Has anyone noticed how much higher the resolution is for google streetview in Europe? I just popped into a spot in Italy and the resolution is phenomenal. I wonder why it's so poor here in the states.

depends on the location itself....why would you want a high res. of a road next to a field in ohio for ex.?, also, mapping the whole usa @ high res. is far too expensive and prohibited in certain areas.
so yes, coloseum, venice, parma, etc. high res., xxxville, usa, not so much....,.neither are villages in europe, LOL
