Default Need Help! Firefox

My firefox browser has quit displaying the Firefox toolbar allowing me to go back and ahead. I've taken Firefox off the computer and put it back on twice. For a few minutes it worked and then quit again and I have not gotten it back. Any ideas?

I was told Firefox was better than IE, but I didn't like it. I'm back to IE, easier to understand.

We just had a big discussion not too long ago because certain people here felt the need (in a recent post about IE8) to jump in and spout off about IE being crap and telling the poster to use firefox, so let's not start the same thing in firefox threads. What browser you use is of no use to the OP, let him use the browser he wants and get his problem fixed without starting another IE/firefox argument.

Since we are already here, I have another FireFox question:

Up until yesterday, all my sites remembered who I was, and I remained logged in. But now, every time I close my browser, I have to log in again at every site (including this one). What can I do to restore the default of keeping me logged in even when I close my FireFox browser?

Actually it could be lesser of evils as I recently downloaded IE8 and it is crap too, freezing on me.
