I don't disagree totally, but the phrase, "Ignorance of the law is no excuse" comes to mind while reading your post.
I don't think we are on the same page. Let's try another example. Say you buy something from the market and get some bills back. Some of these bills are counterfeits. Unless you check every bill before putting it in you pocket, you don't know they are counterfeit bills. But we all know that making, distributing and using counterfeit money is unlawful. So it's not ignorance of the law. You simply don't know you were handed counterfeit bills. Likewise, some people might not know what they are watching is pirated content.
I actually tried the Kodi + Hack thing. It sucks. Install this, go here, do this, run this, run this search, wait, pause...oh it's not available. Try again.
I'd rather just pay a service.
Yeah, me too. At first, the Kodi-plus-add-ons was more of a technical pursuit for me. I don't even watch movies a lot. But the Kodi-plus-add-ons got old for me too. Specially after Covenant replaced Exodus. A bit more clunky. I've kept Kodi-plus-add-ons for exploring/watching shows in other countries.
On the other hand, side loading Terrarium TV into our Fire TV has proven to be much better than the Kodi addons approach, in my opinion. It's a keeper for now. Until the powers-that-be shut it down as well. But I'm sure another one will pop-up.

Try cCloud and Mobdro for Kodi. Mobdro is also an android app so it can run as a Fire TV app as well.
Both of these offer live TV and a lot of channels and they work as they should. How legal or not they are I could not tell you.
The add-ons you mention are no longer working, they are constantly changing which is why you may have experienced issues.
Yeah, I have cCloud on Kodi. But I hardly use Kodi anymore. Only use it to explore foreign channels.
Mobdro, I have as a stand-alone. (Outside of Kodi). It's been okay.
For now, I prefer Terrarium to Mobdro. Just seems smoother.

Since I only have an antenna, these apps have come in pretty handy when I want to watch something like cable news or cable channels. BTW, Mobdro inside of Kodi works 10x better than as a standalone. No ads!
Neither of the movies you mentioned is available on any free streaming source (Infinity War is still in theaters, so it's not even available on any paid services).
Yes it is. It was available the day after it came out in theaters.
That's nowhere near full HD quality and no... it's not remotely 'legal'. Just because something is online doesn't make it 'legal'.
Yep, and just because someone injects ads into the illegal stream, doesn't make it legal either.
