Just a quick note to all:

If you are offered the chance to upgrade to IE8, be very careful. It has a considerable amout of problems.

In my own case, it knocked me off the internet for two days. Finally got it fixed after spending an hour on the phone with Microsoft.

I am and intend to remain on IE7.

Just a work of caution.

Unfortunately I recently downloaded IE8. So far it hasn't knocked me off the net but ever since I downloaded it I have had more browser crashes/freezes than ever before. I hate this thing!

Check your Windows Automatic Updates. M$ is now including IE8 with automatic updates, and would have installed if I had blindly allowed all updates to be installed.

Also if your a Skype user be careful, it installs a browser add-on that allows you to make calls from within the browser I guess, and can cause IE8 and IE 7 to run extremely slow and/or crash. Had 2 clients yesterday whining about how IE sucked, both of them had installed Skype and not read the warning during installation that told them if they install the add-on it will cause these problems.

I agree IE8 is crap...I run IE7 at work and the same websites I go on with IE7 at work either dont run properly or crash on IE8.

I don't use IE often but had problems with IE8, went back to IE7. I primarily use Firefox3. Never have problems with it.

I tried to go back to IE7, but it won't let me. I don't like IE8, but can't get IE7 back. Any suggestions?

What exactly does that mean, you tried add/remove programs and it won't uninstall?
