To put it more simply, the OP's step-mother wants to view web pages on the TV, not Internet video.

MSNTV would of been perfect for the op. Unforutnately its closing down this sept 30th. I have been using msntv for over 10 yrs & its not a computer (no hard drive or viruses) but you have internet access to email, websites, etc (i paid a monthly fee of 21.95 & the receiver & wireless keyboard cost me $40.00 in 2000 & still works fine). I cant afford a pc so after sept 30th i will rarely be online unless i go to the library. This really stinks. Msntv has been around since 1996. Ill miss it big time.

Yeah, I think the OP's question would have been easily answered back in the mid 90's when WebTV was quite popular. I knew of many people who had it. I didn't realize it was still around.

I hope you find a replacement for your MSNTV. Have you looked at the Google TV boxes ? Vizio co-star ?

Doesn't sound like she was accessing the web everyday because I had to get rid of it in 2009 because it became so outdated that if you went to certain sites it would just cut off

Those sites were youtube and facebook
