They don't just want the dollar amount of out-of-state purchases by NC residents. No. They want their names, addresses, what it was that each customer purchased, and what they paid for it!

The implications of this are staggering. Aside from the First Amendment right to privacy issue, there's the "goldmine" of information regarding the types of books that are being purchased by political figures - as is noted in the AuctionBytes article linked above.
The tabloid political commentators would have a freakin' field day on the John Edwards list alone!

Good for Amazon I hope they shut this down right quick.
