They haven't even begun building the new plant, the nat gas pipeline needed hasn't begun and needs permits, all processing is done from existing 1990's stockpiles. They will still need large cap infusions to get the work done, which will definetly get done, they will not however,be in full scale production for 3-4 years.Any enviormental roadblocks can push that back even further (we are talking California here).Lynas,on the other hand, has all permits in hand,is using existing technology, and is weeks away from startup. I think MCP at this point, may be fully valued.Lynas,is almost unheard of because it doesn't trade on the U.S. exchanges (except in the pink sheets).

Here is the latest info from MolyCorp
Fourth Quarter Highlights

Note.... Minning operations resumed.

•Revenue rose 154% from Q3 2010 to $21.7 million.
•Volume sold rose 20% from Q3 2010 to 638 metric tons.
•Secured all critical environmental permits to start Project Phoenix.
•Mining operations resumed for first time since 2002.
•Commenced construction of new processing facility ahead of schedule.

I know all about Lynas as I have been a share holder since early 2008.

I am not knocking your post though as it is as you say a good investment (at this point).

I bought Moly corp July 2010 at $15.50
Thats been a H--l of a lot better investment then Lynas.
I also bought Avalon, Quest and REE when they were dirt cheap and made a fortune.

Molycorps purchase of an Estonian RE processor is an admission they won't be converting rock at Mountain Pas in the near future,Lynas will be processing 11000 tons in 2012,@ 100,000 a ton, which is the current price,I see 1.1 Billion in sales. Not bad for a company with a 4 billion market cap.

That's why I still hold Lynas after all this time. It had a HUGE dip in price from when I bought it and where it is now.
It's looking like it may pay off after all.
I still hold REE, Quest, Tasman, Medallion, Avalon, Lynas.
FWIW .. Quest is very close to an AMEX listing which should raise it's price soon.

Cheers.....

I think LYS and MCP will be the first to the party with true profits, among the others,AVL and GWG are my favorites.Think many of the others will be bought out before coming to production. We are moving toward a greener world just based on the number of consumers seeking the same resources increasing by a multiple of 5 in the next twenty years. All that technology uses ALOT of RE,with no substitutes visible.

As you and I know these are, and have been, very Volatile investments but I also still see much upside ahead for some.
In general I hold core positions and also swing trade on a regular basis.

Most of my friends are too Chicken to play with these. Too Bad For Them.
The same could be said about the Uranium Stocks going back a ways.

WOW .... Medallion up 35% today...at this point.

Thats what I mean about the Volatility in these Rare Earth stocks.

I have more then a double from a prior surge in this stock already.

Looks like I might do it again. Recently bought 200,000 in the mid .20's for trading.

Also hold my Core Position for the really Big Gain ahead ...

yes, volatile, and I bought Lynas at 15.85 on March 15th, and sold about a week later at 20.80. (ADR = 10 shares)

I'd like another chance on the next big dip, if you long term holders do not mind another dip.

It rested there for 2-3 days, and then headed much higher on me.

I think Lynas, and later Molycorp, will have a "sweet spot" of 18-24 months were they will be the only game in town.Almost everything that has happened bad recently,Tsunamis,Middle East, declining dollar making oil more expensive, adds luster to the RE story, which makes alternative energy and conservation of it,the next great investment opportunity.
