Doesn't sound like an "investment" question, but more like an employment question, but that's okay with me.

What skills do you have?
How much money do you have? How much do you need?
How much spare time do you have?
What kind of help does your grandmother need?

one word: odesk.com

Learn some skills (just start reading books on the topics and practice) and make some money.

That's where I outsource all my tasks and there is definitely money to be made on the worker side.

I would invest in getting yourself a marketable skill or trade.
