For those of you who know that they will max out $5K for Roth IRA. Do you wait for a big sell-off to buy your shares?
Also, do you buy Mutual Funds and/or Stocks?
Do you think Roth IRA's $5K amount will ever go up?
Also, where do you keep your Roth IRA? Do you pay any annual fee for it?
I currently have Roth IRA through Edward Jones and pay a $40 a year.
Also, all are American Funds. Very good returns but it has a expensive load of 5.75%.

That's an absurd expense load. You should switch funds.
Mine is with Vanguard and I would not consider any place where I'd have to pay an annual fee. Mine is drafted out of my checking account the same day every month. I am over 50 so am able to contribute $500 per month, which I do. I would never consider a load Mutual Fund. Whether the limit will ever go up, I have read that is decided based on the inflation rate. Perhaps someone else will have more information about that than I do. The Vanguard account mine is in is a balanced fund which does contain stocks.

I did well with Vanguard STAR once but sold it. It was a after-tax account.
Which Vanguard funds do you have? Vanguard's also have low MER.
