In the words of Marie Antoinette, "Let them eat cake" with an attitude as she fiercely snapped her neck to the right, whipping her hair back and forth. I voted "No....".

Why didn't noone care to regulate and exercise oversight? They were making too much money, selling these pink elephants to creditors and investors. The government is in bed with these guys. What do you think happened when many people proudly thump that Obama raised a record 300 million dollar in a month in campaign funds or McCain did the same but only less... it means that this profiteering always finds its way back to the coffers of the establishment.

Let's not get too hung up on the politics and the corruption. What has happened has happened. I vote for ending this mess and saving the retirement funds of many, many old people who are living in depression at emaciated retirement accounts... it's only that the debt will go on to posterity. Well, that's the only dire consequence and it's okay, rather than a depression for 2 or 3 more decades.

Posterity has to deal with an austere lifestyle
. No more travelocity/expedia deal trips and 400 dollar hotel stays. Stay at home, perhaps, don't tip the waiter and stop signing up for new Kohl's and Macy's cards
LOL, like I said... Dump it on others....

Best post on this thread.

What matters the most is the market index and our portfolios being held hostage by Europe.

Let's not forget, this is a bailout to help ourselves, though we will be steepening the onus on the next generation.

short term jump, long term crash. the more money we throw at the problem, the harder the hit we will get as our debt mounts.
