On Monday, April 9th, Alexza Pharmaceuticals Inc (ALXA)’s Director, Gordon Ringold, made a $54,000 buy of ALXA, purchasing 100,000 shares at a cost of $0.54 each.

FDA DATE: May 4th
Another very closely watched PDUFA is for Alexza's (ALXA) Adusave (Staccato Ioxapine). Adusave was also delayed three months. The PDUFA was delayed due to an amendment to Adusave Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy [REMS] portion of the NDA. Adusave is intended to treat agitation in patients with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. I have not been a fan of Adusave for over a year now. I am a proud owner, I think, of ALXA, at 63 cents.
FDA this week, earnings next week, and stock near all-time lows.

ARNA has it's FDA Advisory Panel on Thursday, and things are looking good for a positive recommendation to the FDA. I'm in with a small position at $3.28 and plan to hold thru Friday. I don't speculate like this often, but this one is looking good. Do your own DD, but again, this one looks like a winner.

I tried to get some yesterday near $2.55 but failed.
No way, I jump in at the current $3.38.
The news on May 10th is not approval, that comes late June, I think.

My ALXA was denied. I paid 63 cents and it is now 43 cents.
Not worth selling, so I'll become the dreaded "long term holder."

Well, it's all up the the FDA Advisory committee tomorrow. Bought in at $3.28, closed today at $3.66. Trading will be halted tomorrow, so the decision happens tomorrow afternoon and she either soars or tanks Friday morning. I really think that ARNA has the science and the need for a new and novel approach to combat obesity on it's side, but it's still a gamble. We'll know by this time tomorrow. Sorry to hear about ALXA Howard.

The stock is trading pre-market.
When ALXA had their "day," it stopped trading around 1pm.

If ARNA is trading until around mid day, I may do something with options. The premiums are very huge.
The stock is $3.60 and the May 19th $4.00 call, to be sold, is over $1.00. Clearly the options are expecting a move greater than 30%.
Puts are high too. Over a $1.00 for a $3 put with breakeven way down at $2.00.
