Yes, you're right, and what's even worse, I sold CSCO and held onto YHOO, so I am certainly no stock picker! I'm getting ready to cut my losses on a few dogs to offset some gains, then rebalance my entire portfolio for the storm I see gathering steam on the horizon. Are you a trader, davidt1?

Yes, I am, partially. My portfolio looks something like this: 50% long term; 30% short term; 20% cash. The long term portion is where I trade on a longer time frame. The short term portion is what I trade for weekly gain.

Indeed....but we deal with a media that reports things like....

ABC Co. Profits Up 400%! (and if you look up the company you see they made about a 1% profit the year before....but that's not mentioned in the article)

You also get such gems as....

Company XYZ makes largest profit! (no mention that XYZ might be the largest company in the world)

Now we get to hear about 300pt swings in the market.....which meant something 7000pts. ago.

My local newspaper is very anti-business and is generally a rag....they love to spoon this stuff up for the slack-jawed troglodytes.

Correction on what I said earlier. The hypothetical $20 would have turned into $360 since RIMM had a 3-for-1 split recently. Sorry for bringing this up again, but accuracy is important to me.

Are you my clone? Am I your clone?

I could not have expressed it better.
