Guys,

Can you tell me your thoughts on EEH its appears to be an ETN that has skyrocketed and i'm trying to understand why. Do you guys think it will keep going up short term? Looks very tempting but i have no idea why its moving so fast. Is it based on debt momentum?

thanks,

The investment seeks to replicate, net of expenses, the SPECTRUM Large Cap U.S. Sector Momentum Index. The index tracks the value of a notional portfolio composed of the ten sub-indices of the S&P 500. It is based on the relative weights of the sub-indices within the index. The weights of the sub-indices that outperform the S&P 500 Total Return Index are increased in the index, which weights of the sub-indices that underperform are reduced.

Sorry, never owned it. I mistakenly thought you were asking about EEM, but I went ahead and posted the profile for EEH any way. I apologize.

No need to apologize friend, i'm just very curious about this ETN since its up so much and i'm interested in going long and seting a 2% stop loss.

The NAV of this ETN is $13. Meaning you would be paying $130 for something that is actually worth $13. Looks about as tempting as poison.

Most likely its dramatic rise is the result of illiquidity.

Wow!! Thank you for pointing that out. Sounds like a quick way to the poor house.

thanks,
I am not familiar with EEH, but I took a quick look at its snapshot and chart history and would advise against owning it in any form or way. It reminds me of a penny stock that goes from zero volume to massive volume in a second, which is usually followed by a big crash. This recent spike seems to be for no apparentment reason as well. Look at the average volume, it is so low and if you bought, you may have a problem selling your shares at current prices. The market is full of stocks that are working, so I would avoid EEH. Who knows how much higher it will go, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't a fraction of its price a year from now. You would be better off buying some call options in Facebook to play earnings if you want a chance for huge double digit gains. I feel you would be better off playing roulette than investing in EEH.

If you caught the spread yesterday, the ask price was $130, but the bid was in the $60s. Meaning even if you bought and it went up to $160, you'd probably get $80-90 when you tried to sell it.

It appears to be a tool for brokers and market makers to swindle money from gullible people.

Harleyman123, what type of participant do you expect to be? Short or long-term?
