Are you thinking of getting back in?

I'm hoping for a deeper drop of another 6 - 8 % before I move some out of cash to equities.

This is a correction but is it THE correction???

I moved mine two weeks ago, it's going to get volatile for a while.

The Dow Jones is still quite a bit higher than it was a year ago...for some perspective.

The problem I've always had is that by the time I realize the market is really going down, it's time to get back in (not out) ... and vice-versa. When I see the market going up, the train has already left the station. Instead, I've relied on an account manager and stayed at a pretty consistent 10-12% over several years ... without the timing stress of trying to 'react' to the stock market.

that is the exact issue most of us have trying to jump in and out .

the biggest gains come when you are still convinced it is a suckers rallye .

on the flip side by the time you figure out you should have bailed its to late.

I got out last year. Took my profits and ran back to my stable fund in my 401k
For me it was a mighty nice ride. I'll get back in though but not sure when.
My trading account though is still with stocks. I will buy more if the price dips enough and then some other companies if their prices get within my range.

I read this site every night and have since about 2005.
It gives a variety of view points and talks about global goings on which effect markets.

I also got out middle of last year and went to cash.....probably a little too early but I remembered a quote by someone (think it was either Rothschild or Rockefeller) who, when asked how he made a fortune in the stock market replied....."I sold too early"

Figured it was smart to take advice from someone who made billions.

Now biding time until I move only some of my stash back into the Big Casino.

Great call!.....Sounds like you timed it just right but I was a little leery of staying too long on the razor's edge of profit/loss. Less stress, peace of mind and all.

Still want to get some back in the game so inflation doesn't eat away at the balance now sitting in fixed.

Time to consult the Magic 8 Ball

Depends on if your a trader or investor. Needs 10% to be a correction yet most will still be ahead from last year.
