Obama/Holder said that the DOJ will not interfere with states' marijuana legalization, so the fact that it's federally illegal IMO shouldn't be much of a concern for the at least the next 2 years.

IMO, it's very unlikely that these companies turn into big players long term. For now, the big companies (tobacco companies, etc.) with tons money, distribution networks, etc. are staying out of it because of legal uncertainty. Once the industry becomes safer, they'll probably jump in and wipe out these small companies.

These stocks are also likely highly manipulated with a whole lot of pumping and dumping going on, so I wouldn't give much credence to the people trying to pump them up, or the hit pieces designed to crash the stock. You don't really need to do any research on these companies, just buy when the balloon deflates and sell when it blows back up. If the stocks jump 20-40% in a few days...too late, you missed it. These stocks regularly see +/- 15% in a day. Wait for them to fall back down and then buy. When they get pumped back up, sell.

FITX is questionable, but PHOT is doing legit business and is buying a stake in FITX so somebody besides speculators see potential. They're trying to get a license for one of the large commercial grows in Canada that they're forcing the MMJ system into. Good for business, bad for average joe trying to grow his own.

HEMP has a CEO whose past running stock scams puts me off more than his doing time for smuggling the noble herb.

Also not dealing in the herb itself is ERBB. Tranzbyte seems on its way to being the most multifaceted company in the space right now, and one that a lot of the sector might be doing business with in some form. (Disclosure: I am long ERBB...and so is anyone else talking about it - for now)

I assume every ticker I see is a pump-and-dump scam until I do some DD and find satisfactory evidence that it might be something more. Use your heads.
