I am creating this thread on the recommendation of one of the senior forum contributors. Lets discuss the stocks that we think are up and coming or have recently broken out. Share your list here and let the discussions begin. As a disclaimer, invest at your own risk. I am assuming this list is for fun purpose only

It's in a long-term downtrend, which is not the kind of stock I would want to own, especially when there are so many stocks working right now. There are much better gold stocks to own such as GLD, GDX and GG. If you don't own it, I wouldn't buy it. If you own it, I would sell it. It could turn around, but that would be a gamble. It's now falling below 200 day moving average. This is just my two cents.

Look for financials to really do well this year. I would look closely at the large banks that are at the lowest valuations, BAC and JPM are my favorties, but C, MS and GS should do well too.

I'm also kicking myself for not buying ARII when I first spotted it last year. It's already run WAY up on the hopes of massive freight car orders from the railroad operators looking to upgrade their aging freight car fleets to current safety standards. Others in the space such as TRN and GBX have run way up as well.

I'll second the OP's disclaimer - perform your own research and invest at your own risk. Everything posted here is just my opinion, and it's worth exaclty what you paid for it.

BAC and GS started breaking out two days ago, I think they will go higher.

Disclaimer: Started positions in BAC and GS on March 4, 2014

I sold BAC today, it looks like a temporary top, taking profits now.

Very bearish sentiment on 3D printing right now for no particular reason other than a steady stream of hit pieces being put out on Seeking Alpha the last few weeks. The sector had gotten a little ahead of itself though.

DDD is down to 68 and looks like it's headed down to ~60, maybe even a little lower. I would be very surprised if it dropped much below ~55 barring a broad market downturn, so ~55 to low 60s will probably be where it bottoms out. Should be a pretty good entry point there soon.

What do you guys think about Workday "WDAY". I know from prospective employer perspective they are expanding like crazy but does that mean yes or no. Personally its a bit expensive for me but thats what I thought about Linkedin "LNKD" last year and look where it is now

WDAY - It broke out on 11/26/13. It went from finding resistance at the 20 MA to finding support. If you want to own it, I would wait to see if it finds support at the 20 MA. It's getting pretty close to it. If this is something you want to buy right now, use a stop at today's intraday low. However, I would wait for it to find support first.

LNKD - I started a short position today with a fairly tight stop. It keeps hitting lower lows and lower highs. I will cover if it goes above yesterday's intraday high.
