My leverage of 4:1 on equities as a day trader status. The net losses were based on total losses on the underlying options value. I didn't trade leaps. I kept it closer. I also traded weekly options as well.

I'm not sure who "we" on the leverage but I had the capabilities.

You as an investor do not manage the index holdings. You can buy funds that mimic the index. Many ETFs and mutual funds do this.

A buy of S&P-500, Russell, Nasdaq 100, etc......will do what I described above. Check vanguard, SPDR, everyone has their own product.

Major brokerage firms aren't giving you 4 times leverage

Well I had 4:1 capabilities so I guess that's just too bad then.

You didn't have a 4:1 credit limit, you had intraday capabilities of 4:1, if you didn't close out before the end of the day the standard 2:1 would come into play the following trading day and you wouldn't have 4:1 that trading day. That's a far cry different to saying you had 4:1 leverage on your cash

Okay when you say you have a 4x credit limit but fail to say its only an intra day limit that certainly isn't correct

I did not say I was holding onto next trading days the heavy trades. The heavy speculative options trades were opex day. You just did not understand the post I wrote.

You actually said you had 4:1 leverage and a credit limit up to 600k. It certainly isn't a credit limit you describe but rather day trading buying power. You also don't simply have 4:1 credit but rather intraday max leverage on your excess above the maintenance requirement from the prior days close of business.
