Everyone who's able should max it out ASAP right? Maybe tomorrow?

Or is it a question of how confident you are the market won't correct a worthy amount from today (10%+) at any point thru April 2016? When you think of it like that it seems like the odds are super low it'll keep going up without any dips for that long. Sure can make you want to wait to try timing it.

I usually fund our Roths early February when my annual bonus hits. If you were going to do it and didn't have to worry about your income disqualifying you, why didn't you do it during the year last year?

Funded 2014 early on in 2014, can't fund 2015 before 2015 AFAIK

If you have the money available, just do it now. The odds are in your favor because the markets go up more than they go down. That's why we all invest, right?

Are the odds better it'll go up without even a 5-10% dip at any point thru April 2016 given the current state?

Could just wait till SPY goes to 190 and fill the order.

I lean myself towards just a lump sum ASAP strategy as well but just wanted to hear responses b/c the question is still hard for me to answer when phrased like the above.

If you put in an order to buy spy @ 190 what will you do if it moves from 205.50 to 220?

You could buy a reverse index like SDS, so you make make money if you think its going down.

One thing to keep in mind ETF need to be actively managed. They are not sit back and hope for the best...

Guess I'm just curious what the odds are it doesn't dip 5-10% from the current high at any point thru April 2016. I will bet it goes up of course overall, but I'd also bet there'll be dips along the way.
