I wonder if anyone makes a sizable amount from it. A simple phone call would answer that question, but I don't really have any desire for Motif, just curious.

If you get stock voting rights then I'd be very very interested in this.

My question is do you get voting rights to the stock in your fund?
Also are you limited to stocks or can you buy funds and bonds?
Why wouldn't you get voting rights to the stock? What a weird question.
You can buy ETFs, not sure about mutual funds or bonds but I don't think you can.

Because you might not own a whole share if your find has only a couple grand in it. I think bonds are a possibility since the questionnaires asks you about bonds. I'm going to experiment later tonight.

Voting rights don't really mean much. Tax control means much more imo

Cfa-ish,
Did you ever invest actively in a motif? What was the experience like?

I remember a while back seeing someone from Motif being interviewed on CNBC about their service and it sounded interesting. This thread made me curious so I went over to check out the site. I like the community created motifs. You can see other investor's motifs and returns. The site is easy to understand.

-Cheers.

It's received good reviews, solid 4/5 stars. I think it's good for people with a small amount of money. If you are dealing with a decent amount, it's not a good choice.

It allows you to buy up to 30 stocks or ETFs for $10 commission basically, which is why it's good for people with little to invest. If you want to sell one of those stocks within that motif, it's like $5 commission. People can also invest in your "motif" and you'll get $1 commission.
