Thanks for some of the help here. Yea, I was looking at dollar cost averaging small amounts which is why the fees were concerning. We are only a few years into working and are a normal middle class household. We have money to invest but not tons. Putting a few hundred dollars a month into an ETF with a fee attached will definitely eat into our gains over the long term since out deposit each time won't be a large sum. I think I'll look at Vanguard even though it's 3k to open a brokerage account. Fees for buying individual stocks through them is also only $7 for first 25 trades.
