I would never invest in twitter. I don't think they bring a "service" that sticks out enough to be around long term. Honestly I if I had to guess, I doubt twitter will even be around 10 years from now and that is being generous. Look at how many of the latest and greatest social media/tech things have came and gone. Besides FB I don't think any are great long term ideas, and even with FB I would be iffy. Someone could come out with a new social media thing tomorrow that sweeps the young people off their feet and in no time twitter would be just like Myspace; a thing of the past.
Does anyone believe that Twitter's recent nosedive is going to be permanent (I'm hearing talk that the company's recent disappointing earnings report is a sign that overestimated the company: http://www.csmonitor.com/Business/20...-bounce-back)? If not, when would be a good time to purchase some shares in Twitter? I'm inclined to believe that Twitter will bounce back, but won't invest in it now (I'm not talking major investments here either) as I think that the stock will continue to drop for a minute coming off the earnings report.
Morningstar rates the stock 3 out of 5 stars, meaning it's an average value.
Morningstar also rates FB 3 out of 5 starts....so if they're to be believed, both are about the same.
