Sad day for many long term investors. Post your frustration and carnage here.

Dow set to open down over 700 points, wow. Think we are in oversold territory ...

My prediction is expect the bottom to be 10,000 for the DOW. 18,000 was the height even with the Fed pumping the hell out of it.

Stocks have nowhere else to go but down.

Certianly an overshoot and a disservice to history to call a 4% decline black Monday, I believe in 87 it was a 20%+ decline on the day

So companies are in the same shape as they were in 2008, no improvement in the economy since then?

What is actually the minimum you are willing to bet is the bottom?

Why???? This is the time the long term investor should be ready for. I know I am, lot of stocks on my watch list are getting cheaper. I'll be looking for the right spots to buy and add. Nothing sad about this at all, in fact, it's NORMAL.

No carnage for me just yet. I have a couple of individual stocks that dropped, but they are a very minor part of my investing and they didn't drop much. My 401k dropped just 1%. My IRA and Roth IRA dropped (both index funds, so they dropped accordingly), but the value of both of those right now is cash. So I am actually sitting on cash today that I am looking to invest. I am just not sure where right now and I wasn't prepared for all this. Originally I was just going to add that cash to both funds, but I need to do some research first. I am pretty excited to have cash and things are lower.

God damn it. The stocks I wanted to buy have already rebounded while I was logging into my brokerage account. Lost 10% gains in just a minute.
