Forecasts for Wednesday?

I'm thinking a slight increase, something like 0.20% increase.
Asian markets are up, futures are up. From what I understand, that generally indicates that NYSE will be up after opening. Of course, something could happen during the day to make it reverse direction. Hence, I (personally) would not go buying or selling holdings on the basis of an internet stranger's hunch.

Does the tendency of the market to just go along with the futures bode well for the 'future' or is this because of a lack of anything substantial - since the market has factored in all the news - happening in the domestic market?

What macro/semi-macro events could propel the markets higher or are we just going to have laddered (incremental but sideways) movement for the next 6-12mos?

Interest rates will dictate the direction of the market.

Looks like my Friday close prediction happened today. What a crazy market. Now watch what happens after and pre market. Seems like the real trading is being done behind closed doors.
