Hello everyone,

I don't trade options very often, but became interested in some OTM calls: Bid is 1.25 and Ask is 1.60. Last trade 1.50.

Suppose I placed an order at, 1.50 for 10 contracts. I'm wondering the likelihood of this getting filled. I would do a Fill or Kill order, because I need all 10 filled or the trade won't work for me.

Almost certainly, a market maker of some sorts would be the one to handle the other side of this trade. Since they're primarily interested in making money, I'm not sure if they would fill or ignore a resting order like that.

What has been your experience with these kinds of option fills? I'm using interactive brokers, if it matters.

I've never placed an order fok but when I enter option orders I also never place market orders and use limits instead. My limits are always between bid/ask unless it's a 0.01-0.02 difference. When you will get filled will depend on the spread and the willingness for someone else to come to you, no one could tell you where a fok order would need to be on a random 1.25-1.6 spread
