We cant deny existence of Bitcoin cash. In lot of ways it is faster and better than BTC. But so is Litecoin. So why pay a premium just for the brand name? Also, biggest issue i have with any future technology in this domain is around proof of work, mining and energy consumption. So Bitmain has a monopoly over mining equipment supply. They do not accept BTC as a payment only BCH? Also letting miners decide the future of crypto coin is something i am against. All they care about is their own profits. For that very reason i think both BTC and BCH cannot sustain long term
I've seen more and more people as of late saying they will only invest in proof of stake coins and not proof of work or mineable coins.
Well apparently there is a rumor that korea might impose capital gains tax on cryptos. I am not sure if it is fake news which is causing this but lets wait and see how it plays...
I wouldnt be surprised if it were true because they have ATM machine things where prople can just go up and buy bitcoin. People are going crazy for it as a form of gambling.
How easy (or hard) is it to cash out when that decision comes? Just learning about this stuff, some really helpful threads here. Thanks.
Should not be a problem unless there is a real crash which shuts down major exchanges due to traffic issues. Same thing happens when there is a big run, especially coinbase and bittrex have had some down times during high traffic.
If you are that hesitant to buy and that quick to sell based on one news event you probably shouldn’t be involved in crypto currencies to begin with. Trying to daytrade cryptos is a fool’s game. Any strategy other than buy and hold for the long term is likely to cost you lots of money.
Many people calling the top and selling now predicting the end. Just like those calling for $1 million dollars, they will most likely be wrong just like they were many times in the recent past. The long term trend is up until proven otherwise.
Now that Coinbase is supporting BCH, I'm contemplating whether or not I should add some, particularly if it's negatively correlated with BTC/ETH/LTC.
Are the existing BCH owners in the thread adding more?
How did you get you ID verified through Coinbase?
What should we conclude from the security with Coinbase when they do not offer a phone number for tech support. You're adding funds to your account, with a company that has no public phone number.

No phone support sucks, but honestly it's pretty much how most websites and tech companies are today, many if not most don't have phone support it's all livechat or submitting tickets or email. That said Coinbase did get a phone number recently..

It hasn't to this point needed to be a real crash to create problems. Simple run ups in price have created numerous issue for people being able to access their accounts with coinbase. If you think it's bad when bitcoin is up 2000 in a day wait until it's down 8k and see how fun it is

Binance acctually worked the best for me until now. Bittrex and Coinbase are always at the edge of collapsing. To get back into usd I suggest everyone uses a few different exchanges, I for one have a bitstamp, coinbase and kraken account for fiat - krypto and vice versa. Helps not only with the amounts you can withdraw per day but also when you need to get out and coinbase is off the grid once again. Trading mostly on binance, bittrex and kucoin.
