For you guys that predict oil going to $200 before labor day, or the Dow heading to 15,000 by the end of this year, this thread is for you. Post your baseless market predictions here so they can be consolidated in one thread and we can hold you accountable to your mindless noise.

OK...............ummmm.........aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh?? ????????

OK 1. Oil will be $300 a barrel by the end of the Olympics because the U.S. will be upset by Cameroon in pingpong.

2. The market will go to 20,000 because Obama is going to choose Hulk Hogan for his VP pick. "WHATCHA GOING TO DO IRAN, WHEN OBAMAMANIA RUN WILD ON YOU!"

3. Real estate will make a big comeback by the new year because Jim Cramer says so. BOOOOOYAAAAAAA!

4. And the back street boys will have a huge comeback tour in 2009! Again.......BOOOOOOYAAAAA!

TexianPatriot, how are you going to hold them accountable, and what exactly are you holding them accountable for?

IMO, all predictions, no matter how deeply the subject matter is studied and researched are still educated guesses at best. Making a prediction is basically a harmless way to stroke the ego and show the world how smart ( you think ) you are.

Ok I'll play......

The DOW will finish at 12,370 at year end (up from where we are but down for the year)

We'll pay about 30 cents less for a gallon of gas (on avg) by year end....

However, the housing market I can say w/much more confidence will still be in the chitter...there's way too much inventory left

Realtors are gonna make a comeback in 2009 and people are gonna pay 7% commission because they realized realtors were underpaid.

I am starting to think the oil prices are going to go where they will no matter the geopolitical or supply and demand forces. This was a very bullish week for oil, yet the prices continued to decline. Had we have seen the events of this week unfold 2-3 weeks ago, we would be looking at $160-170 right now no doubt.

I hate to provide a base for my prediction...

But Congress has to renew the drilling ban each year:

Although House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., have blocked Republican efforts to end the 27-year moratorium on offshore drilling, few people realize that Congress is required to approve the prohibition on an annual basis.

The Columbus Dispatch : Congress must confront offshore-drilling ban

If the ban gets renewed then oil will rise to about $140 by the end of the year and gas will stay around $4 per gallon. If the ban fails to get renewed then oil will fall to about $100-110 by the end of the year and gas will be in the $3.60-3.70 range.

Good idea for a thread. I can makes some mindless predictions too.

I'm going to guess the stock market will will stay about the same for a few months. It'll have it's days of up and down. Then after the elections it'll start going up slowly. I played it safe and cashed in my stocks a while back, not that I had a lot in there.

Gas will go down. It was all a bad dream or a bubble. Now it'll keep going down until it gets to about $3.00 a gallon. I wish it would go lower so maybe I should say $2.00 a gallon.

Housing is just going to get ugly. It'll be bad for a couple of years in California,Nevada,FLorida and Arizona. The midwest housing will get better by next summer unless the car factories have more lay offs. Oh I predict one Americain Car company will go broke. The others will pick up a bit of business from the car company that didn't make it. My guess is Ford won't make it.

Alright my crystal ball is blank now.
