I explored IC on my way from a move from the Bay Area to NY. I remember thinking, what a nice city and I should have gone to U of Iowa.... Great pics.. I walked around NY with my Iowa hawkeyes sweatshirt...

I like the picture with 2 classic Saabs parked...

Is that a Pollock at the art museum it looks like Pollock meets Munch..

is that modern building by Gehry? ... I just checked.. It is.. Better than the onevwe had at MIT..

Great pictures! I grew up on the East Coast. On my first day of work when I was in my 20's, my boss said to me, "You have a trip to Iowa next week." I was like, "Where?" I laughed and told all my friends (sarcastically) that I was so lucky to travel for work and go to Iowa! Well I didn't laugh when we landed and I had a morning to walk around the city. What a nice city it is! Friendly people, great restaurants, neat downtown. I really enjoyed my time there. And I was happy when I got to go back to Iowa City for work the following year. It seems like a very nice place to live.

Thanks for the wonderful photos! I never knew IC was that urban-feeling; reminds me of Madison, WI. I've never been in IC - we always drive around it on our way to visit my aunt in Ottumwa. I'm looking for places to move to once I'm done with school with Minneapolis being my top choice (I live in a suburb of Milwaukee now), but I might have to consider IC now. I'll be working in healthcare, and I've heard there are many hospitals and clinics down there. I will definitely have to visit one of these days and check it out.

Haven't been to Iowa City since the early 70's, and my oh my how this city has matured and urbanized!

As this medium-sized city proves it: Less is oftentimes more!

Thanks for the tour, and I love a city that has some nice outdoor sculptures!
