Default moving to cedar rapids area

Me and my family are looking to move to the cedar rapids area and I'm not a big city guy myself I was wondering what a good town or county I could look for outside of cedar rapids within driving distance I could look for a house in and still be able to drive an hour or less to cedar rapids for work. Thanks for any suggestions.

Try Hiyawatha on the north side. That's like a suburb. Marion is also good.

If you want a smaller town than those, just pick one of those along hwy 30. Pretty painless commute.

Mount Vernon seems nice, from the couple times I've been through there. Solon is another option...slightly further away than Mount Vernon, but still should be an easy commute and you'd be close to Lake MacBride and the Coralville Reservoir if you are the outdoorsy type. Solon is a small town, but has a few restaurants, grocery store, gas station, and newish library (at least it looks new to me).

We moved here about 7 months ago. We decided on Marion it has a nice small town feel but is a quick commute to Cedar Rapids.
