Smile Small Towns

I can only tell you that Humboldt Is a small town and I had the besty days of my childhood there.
My Dad was a teacher there and I had so much fun with my cusins and all the family. The Christmas time was the greatest Ice skating on the tennis courts when the weather was right.
Great people/ Don't be pushy! Let them come to you they will warm up
I only have a few people back there now I miss them very much.
I always have my memories of pickiing wild aspeargus along the rail road tracks and going fishing at the Damn that my Grandfather built
Hope ya get there and check out the town. My late Grandmother used to have a resturant there "Called the white owel cafe" I am sure it'd gone now
But who knows. Enjoy

Lightbulb Norway, IA! (+ What do you think of the Scott Co. or Linn Co. areas?)

I lived in Norway, IA. for 5 years and wish I never left. It is a pretty small town and doesn't have as much as it used to (used to have a restaurant, high school and grocery store that are no longer there) but it has grown with new residential areas on the outskirts. The people are mostly nice and caring. I really loved it. Too bad Southern Benton county doesn't have a whole lot of good paying job opportunities, but it does have some. Frontier Herbs Coop is right there in Norway and Cedar Rapids is right nearby. Any body else have thoughts on the S. Benton County area?

Also, I would like to hear more about "lazy, etc." towns in the Scott county area and/or comparisons of that area and the Cedar Rapids area. Thanks so much!

I spent my child hood and part of my adult life in and around the Chariton, Albia and Knoxville Iowa area and visit on a regular basis. All 3 will meet your requirements. Chariton has a long time 4th of July celebration tradition that is second to none. Friendly people, laid back atmosphere. You will like.

What ever you do and where ever you go " stay out of Calif!!!
The bright lights really blurrrrrrr the view!! Even though the wages are higher,
so is the rent and everything else. Stay in the small town USA!!! Real people !!
You can make it!! We are leaving in two years to go to Oregon, Klamath falls to be exact
As my late father always said to me " what ever I do in life, Don't forget where you come from". Take care out there!! J.E.
