I was wondering if anyone could give me some suggestions on Lofts in Downtown Davenport.

I have been attempting to do some research, but I am at a dead end. I've seen a bunch renovated lofts online and they look really interesting, but I can't seem to find any that are not income restricted. Any suggestions on ones that are not?

Also, is the income they are restricting you to before or after taxes and are they looking at last years income or your projected income for the year?

Thanks!

Last I knew there was a waiting list for pretty much any market-rate apartments downtown. The Crescent Lofts are probably your best bet, but like I said, possibly a waiting list. Also, any apartments that aren't income-limited are pretty pricey. Its a bad situation, but developers are starting to finally notice that people want to live downtown, and build/renovate some more units.

I'm in the same boat - considering apartments in or near downtown Davenport in a few months' time. Please do post again if you identify good market rate apartments or pay a visit to the area and check out any units. I'd love to get someone's first-hand impressions of the options...

Default effect of st ambrose on davenport in general

what type of effect (in general) does the University have on Davenport?
How large is their enrollment?

Are the local residents that live close by the University, pleased with the way things function around the "u", or are their some problems that are caused by the way the "u" functions........and is it a BIG problem....or just some small stuff normally associated with having a "U" nestled in a residential neighborhood?

Is it "coed" to a great degree or what?

Thanks for any info that will give a general handle on the "U" and how it functions.

I just recently moved to Des Moines and noticed that virtually all downtown rentals were income restricted with all the related attendant problems. I moved into the West Des Moines burbs in a much nicer place and area than what I could afford in downtown DSM. If your situation is at all similar, moving to the burbs might be a good option.
