I work in Des Moines and because of a divorce I am thinking of moving to Ankeny to be closer to work. I am on a budget and have a dog. Any thoughts of good apartments I could rent? Don't know any of IA (Ankeny or DM) since I just moved here less than a month ago. Found Timberland at Crestbruck Park apartments that sounded good but didn't know if all of Ankeny was "good" or not. Thanks for any suggestions, I'm really in a tough spot right now

The only questionable parts of Ankeny are the rental units on State St, NW College Ave, and just off of NW 10th. And I certainly wouldn't classify any of those areas as unsafe - just alot of weirdos in those rentals.
Crestbrook is just fine. |

I'd say that all of Ankeny is "good", I can't think of any bad parts of it.
That suburb has grown quite a bit in the past five-ten years and probably offers just as much as Ames does at a similar price. |
