Assuming the OP lives in Iowa it's time to move if it's that bad. I hear Kansas has some interesting laws.

No, I don't and if I was thinking about it, this case ruling certainly changed my mind. It's one thing to grapple with my reproductive rights, but losing my job over something not in my control is something I'm not willing to go through.

I'm sorta cute with a big rack. Not that I go out of my way to show them off or anything, but I can't be bothered with losing my job, because some dude or his wife/girlfriend got issues with his self-control around me.

And Kansas was NEVER a thought. Ever. LOL!

So, he basically sexually harassed HER and since she didn't put out, he gets to fire her without repercussion. Wow.
The part highlighted in bold seems to be something you've injected. Right or wrong, it sounds like she was terminated for being so tempting, not because "she didn't put out".

I see possible tinges of sexual harassment, but not really. It seems the doctor and his assistant were both engaged in an inappropriate situation and both are to blame. This 'irresistably attractive' scenario as reason for firing somebody is certainly interesting, but it actually seems valid. Somebody who has never experienced such a situation of mutual attraction may not understand. The marriages and families at stake are certainly more valuable than a job. Of course, we live in a society that since the 1980's it's become highly acceptable to place 'marriage' to a career ahead of a desire for actual marriage, love, and family.

I think it's gotten to the point that Marilyn is just trolling the thread for fun. That or isn't really following along in the rational discussion because he/she is blind to any other reality than their own.

I highly advise you leave the United States then - because this case ruling would be handed down in New York, California or any other of the 50 states. Everyone could point out yet again in very simple english with a lot of patience how things work in the real world, but apparently you're here to cause a fuss and get attention. Use this as a lesson that maybe you should take a little free time and study up on how the justice systems work in the USA, it's a good thing to know in general!! Not sure where you're from or how things are there, but your comments and explanations come off immature in the Iowa thread.

Look, don't be upset with me because the rest of the country is looking at your state crazy.

You keep saying it's the "law" and can be passed in ANY state, but it hasn't. It's YOURS that set the precedent. No one else. I'm already hip to the south and their quest to set women's reproductive rights back to the dark ages, but so far, they haven't approved firing a woman, because her boss can't keep it in his pants -YET.

Like another poster said, had she been an overweight woman and lost her job for not being attractive enough, there would be a major uproar over it and everyone knows it.

So, please miss me with the "you're seeking attention in the Iowa" thread crap.

This ruling made HEADLINE NEWS because it's the FIRST OF ITS KIND. It sets a dangerous precedent for all women (and some men) attractive or not, if their bosses hit on them, then get fired for not giving it up. The fact you're not upset with this says A LOT. It really does.

Um, I don't "troll".

Why do people call others "trolls" when they don't like something they post? Never fails.

Fascinating.

I do a lot of forum posting and have never been called a troll. If this happens to you, then ask yourself why this might be.

You appear to be trolling here because you started a thread with an inflammatory title and then refused to engage an honest, intellectual discussion on the matter after several people provided well-thoughtout explanations.

You don't have to agree with the explanations, but you have yet to directly counter anything without simply relying on rhetoric and hyperbole.

Finally, using "because it was a headline in the media" as your answer, shows poor judgement. You need to look at legal sources (or media using legal sources), if you want to go down that route. The media is in the business to sensationlizing things and you've bit into it hook, line, and sinker. As has been suggested several times, do your own research.
