Default army moving us to Iowa!

Is there anyone out there that can help us relocate to Dubuque, Iowa. The Army is sending us there January 2. We do not have a lot of time at all to find a house, schools and find out as much as possible about Dubuque. We are looking for a rental home 3or 4BR in the area. Is ther anyone who knows of a good realtor or anyone who may have a house for rent in a few weeks? Where is the best area to move? I heard the West side is. We need a good elementary and high school as well. We're from the South, we are used to living in the country and I love it. We'd like to stay out of the city. I just don't know where to start! Help! Have you searched on the internet for the local newspaper? I bet that they have several realtors that have websites that you can visit as well.

I don'tnow anything about the schools.

Is your husband going there for recruiting duty?

If he is then check with the other recruiters that are assigned there they can help.

Here's one Dubuque Realtory who seems very internet-savvy, which might make it easier to work over distance: Dubuque Real Estate Agent - Nathan Boyes (broken link)

Here are the Chamber's relocation resources -- you should definitely get the guides they offer: Dubuque Chamber of Commerce - Live - Relocating?

I don't know that it's totally relevant, but this is a fun site: alleged market segmentation, showing the types of people living in an area: Prizm > Market Segmentation Research, Tools, Market Segment Research, - Market Segments, Consumer Markets, Customer Segmentation Profiling It seems pretty upbeat, and I really don't think there are as many avid hunters anywhere as it would like to believe, but it gets you thinking about what the neighbors are like, for sure!

Here's one -- don't know how good it is but might be worth playing with: Moving to Dubuque County, Iowa - Dubuque County, Iowa relocation Iowa Relocation Information - Dubuque County, Iowa Relocation Packages - Moving to Iowa? Relocate to Iowa

Good luck! I don't think you'll be displeased. Dubuque is really going places in terms of economic growth, but seems to be retaining a lot of midwestern values along the way. Frankly, I think Cedar Rapids should be envious!
