Default Major Employers

I am currently looking for major employers in the Industrial field around Cedar Rapids/ Iowa City areas. I need to find warehouses that operate 24 hours a day because I will be going to school full time and need to work either the 2nd or 3rd shift. Does anyone know of any besides: Rockwell Collins, General Mills, and Quaker Oats? Thanks!

Have you considered working as a night stocker at a store? They come in around 10 or 11 and work till 6 am.

Yes - Clipper Windpower, Inc. They run 5 warehouse shifts and are hiring warehouse employees and assemblers like mad.

Welcome to Clipper Windpower | Wind Turbine Manufacturer | Wind Power

Rockwell is bringing on about 300 people right now. Not sure for what departments/shifts.

Most grocery stores are open 24/7 and this is when produce restocks, the bakery bakes...there may be openings in these area's too.

24 hour restaraunts.

Good luck! That third shift is ROUGH. I did that when I was in school.

Default Warehouse

Try Worley Warehouse. They seem to be a big operation and I believe they are 24/7.

Penford Products, Cargill, Cedar River Paper Mill, ADM are major employers that run round the clock.

In Iowa City there is Proctor & Gamble, Lear, and of course the University.

Out of curiosity, what kind of wage does one find in overnight jobs of the types mentioned here?
