Since Des Moines and Iowa City are the only have sub forums for Iowa, do you guys think that Iowa's other larger metro areas deserve a sub-forum?

There's too many sub forums on this site as it is.. south dakota needs no sub-forum at all.

I don't think Iowa City or Des Moines even needed sub forums.

Cedar Rapids and Iowa City should be one subforum.

I agree with this. IMO there should be an Iowa Forum, and (barely) a Cedar Rapids/Iowa City subforum and a Des Moines subforum. That's it.

If traffic increased enough, MAYBE a Quad Cities one. But the whole Iowa forum is barely busy enough to support the forums it has now.

Yeah...I think Iowa City and Cedar Rapids might make sense as a sub-forum together but since I don't have a good feel for whether their issues would overlap enough, I'm not real sure if that makes sense. As for the Des Moines subforum, one only has to look at the traffic to see that the DM subforum justfiies its existance.

I can see Des Moines having their own subforum. Iowa City, as a subforum alone, makes no sense to me. IC/CR together would make a litte more sense as it seems a few people looking to relocate to the area have questions regarding IC versus CR to live because of their close proxmity to each other. I know we did when we relocated here from out of state.

It is the amount of traffic that keeps Iowa at so few forums. Look at the dates for the threads that were started within the Iowa forum. The first page shows few active threads happening within the forum. If you look to Illinois the Chicago forum alone has more than a page of active threads going on. Other areas have a similar situation. Most people can look at the current threads and find out what is going on in most parts of Iowa. I like reading the posts often in the Iowa Forum but to tell you the truth it just doesn't take that long to get thru new posts.

Agreed.

IMO Iowa City doesn't really need its own forum based on traffic. As mod here, I rarely even need to look at the IC forum as there are not often any new posts. It could be days between posts.
