gift card for U of I student (Stanley: dorms, buying)

Where is a good place to get a gift card for a freshman at U of I. Is there a record store, or perhaps a pizza place that delivers to the dorms. We need to get our niece a present for christmas.

As far as a record store, I think the Record Collector is still there. I remember it used to be pretty cool, but these days all I've heard is that they sell a lot of imports and stuff like that.

It sounds from your question as though, even if she has a car at school, it isn't convenient for her to use it. That's pretty typical for a freshman! It also sounds like she might be in one of the east side dorms -- Currier, Stanley, Burge, Daum, Mayflower?

None of the "best" places seem to have gift cards that I can find! Iowa Book is online at Iowa Book -- you could call or email to ask about gift cards. Hard to imagine they don't have them! My first thought for pizza was Pagliai's -- they don't deliver (as I recall) but are an easy walk from the dorms and SO good. Their phone number is (319) 351-5073 if you'd like to call and ask about buying a gift certificate. I'll see what else I can think of.
