Does anyone know of any cool, trendy or updated apartments/lofts/duplexes/condos/townhomes in Cedar Rapids (especially close to downtown) that AREN'T income restricted? Seriously frustrated - every single place I've found online so far that looks amazing with lots of space & is under $800/month is income restricted. Since the flood all these cool places are becoming available but I'm starting to think you have to make less than 30k to live remotely close to downtown CR or the Newbo area. I'm not understanding this. I'd even be open anywhere in CR but there seems to be very few trendy apartments in my price range. Appreciate any help. Thanks!

I think there is a serious lack of "trendy" apartments anywhere in Cedar Rapids in your price range, but I could be wrong. It's been a long time since I've rented in the area. Hopefully, someone will come here and offer you some helpful info. Good luck.

$800/month isn't going to get you much for rent anywhere in Cedar Rapids, let alone downtown, sorry. Apartments for Rent - PadMapper Apartment Search for Oodle, Apartments.com, Rent.com, Kijiji, and Craigslist Apartments Does show some downtown apartments. Not sure I would call them trendy but they are some for under $800/month. I don't know if they are rent controlled though.

In CR it really pays off to go with a professional company that assists inl locating rentals. Some apartments or duplexes will NOT list any other way. We did this when we first moved here and received a good 5 additional pages of listings. These places had no signs, no ads. They were strictly available through services such as we used.
Are you in CR currently? Are you aware of what apartments/areas to avoid like the plague? If you want to message me I can inform you. I base this not on amenities but on criminal activity.
