if you don't think weather isn't an issue I'm assuming you've never been through a Minnesota winter a lot of people say that until they move there

Iowa winters aren’t all that much milder than the ones in Minnesota. The first snow might start a week or two later, and the snow might start melting a week or two earlier, but the snowing and blowing is just as strong.

You get a lot of 30 and 40 below zero fahrenheit weather in Iowa?

It *can* get that cold, but it does not occur every winter. A cold snap for Iowa would be about 20 below zero.


That said, northern Minnesota can be a different beast. The difference between northern Minnesota and southern Minnesota is usually more pronounced than southern Minnesota and Iowa. They do call International Falls "America's Icebox" for a reason.
