Default Huckabee??? Why?

I know illegal immigration is huge in Iowa. So, why do you folks like Mike Huckabee for the republican nomination for president? Huckabee is known to be very soft on illegal immigration!!!

Because this state is full of evangelicals. Romney is Mormon. Guliani is Jewish.

25% of IA is catholic. The rest are protestant.

I think the result would be much differnt in a state like Wisconsin or a NE state.

Are you sure about this? I figure with an I-tie name like that he's going to be Catholic.

As far as the original question, the only good answer is that we're not perfect.

Guiliani is Catholic, not Jewish. Mike Huckabee is VERY soft on illegals - supports the whole "path to citizenship" approach.

What happened to the Separation of Church and State?

When people prefer a candidate because of their religion, or because they know or think that the candidates religion will influence their politics (it will), then I start to believe that the religious majority doesn't want the United States to be as our constitution has written it (ahem, a country based on Religious Freedom) - but as their bible says it should be so.

I am of the personal belief that I would like the Government to stay out of my church. Let's say - as an example only - that Romney won. How many of us are Mormon out there? Why does Romney need to have a Mormon-ism 101 speech in Des Moines? What if his faith would "dictate" "his White House" as Huckabee says his will?

This is buying the religious vote. I disagree with the tactic. How is this even a viable statement in the Presidential arena?

On a lighter note...what's up with Giuliani

Just google "Giuliani in drag" for more ::eeks::

The candidate who campaigns the most in Iowa will usually win.
