I'm considering a move to Iowa am specifically looking at the towns of Newton and Grinnell. From afar they seem pretty similar. I'd love to hear any thoughts you could provide me about the two communities. Thanks for any information you can provide!

Grinnell is more college towny, Newton is more burby. Depends on which atmosphere you prefer. Also depends on why you're moving. If you're going to be working in DM, Newton is closer and a quicker commute. If you're going to be retiring, Grinnell would have more in-town things to do. I personally know some very nice people in both towns, and think new people would find it easy to settle into either community. Actually, take a look at the area between the two towns near Rock Creek state park - there are some very nice houses in that area!
