What's wrong with Iowa?
I was thinking about a move to Iowa; drove through the state twice last summer and liked the scenery and towns.
But I'm learning that Iowa actually encourages the illegal invasion, and now Iowa is giving Huckabee a big surge. He is so pro-illegal, pro-mexico, pro-corporate/wal-mart, it is just unreal.
Now I'm questioning about whether to bother with Iowa.
Iowa is scary. And it appears to be full of silly libs and religious "Hucksters".

So now we encourage illegals to come here? Uhhh, ok. I didn't know that....
You have some posters saying Iowa is extremely racist/xenophobic. Now we have folks saying that Iowa encourages illegals.
Your post seems a little too knee-jerk to take seriously, Emansfield

Well, Chicagao, you blanket 30 million people into ONE group.
To the OP - there are illegals in every state. States that have more agriculture could draw more illegals, but in terms of numbers you will have to do some research. Further, just because the work environment may be 'suiting' doesn't mean the State is holding up turn here signs at the border.
Illegal "invasion"? Is there a bunker I should be building?

i guess that you are not in florida, as we certainly could use a bunker down here to protect us from the influx of illegal immigrants. go to the florida chat room and see if floridians are happier now that we have been inundated with cheap illegal labor. obviously, iowa is not experiencing any of that so they can afford to be magnanimous. how iowa votes will not impact the general election. super tuesday will be the deciding factor on the candidates for both parties.

30 million of who into one group? I was just commenting on the... "And it appears to be full of silly libs and religious "Hucksters"."
I'm definitely all for immigration, it's what makes our economy thrive. I do think we should "sign up" the illegals that are here though, if anything for the tax purposes, etc.

I agree, we can't just round them up and deport them. That would create a humanitarian crisis on the Mexican Side of the border and an economic crises here the in the US. The tax revenues would be great also.

If you value your gun rights the concealed-carry laws are a mess. Each of the sheriffs of the 99 counties sets the policy for issuing (or not issuing) concealed-carry permits. 99 counties, 99 sheriffs and 99 different sets of rules. It makes no sense because somebody could get a permit in their county and then travel to a county that does no issue permits and still be perfectly legal. They have more right to self-protection than the person that actually resides there.
