Question Cornstock

Back in the mid 90's me and a few friends rode our sportbikes to go to a little outdoor concert called "Cornstock" but I can't remember what town it was. Spingville seems to stick in my mind though, does that sound right? Do they still do this every summer?

Nope, those aren't the same thing. It was Cornstock (like Woodstock) and whatever bands showed up could hit the stage and play music. It was a small deal, probably less than a hundred people, and close to C.R. so that's why Springville sticks in my head.

I don't think I remember a Cornstock around C.R. at all. There was something that was kind of a big deal over by Williamsburg for a while, but I thought it had some kind of beach theme and they trucked in huge amounts of sand for it. Surely if anything memorable had happened in Springville, there'd be a statue or something dedicated to it? <ggg>

This is going to bother me if I can't find any info. It wasn't that big of deal but it was fun and I just wondered if it still took place. I could swear it was Springville though because one of the girls that was with us that day told us about it and she lived there at the time. I remember the beach deal you're talking about. The name escapes me but I remember KRNA running ads for it.

Let's just say that Springville is an underutilized asset.

Busch71, is this it? Actually, this is a poster made from a graphics/printing company, but the town the music event was in is Sioux City.

Cornstock Music Festival

Nope, not the one. Like I mentioned, it was close to Cedar Rapids. It didn't take us more than 30 minutes to get there on the bikes (doing the speed limit).
