Many may think this should be construed as a negative. What you're missing is that we drove that snooty ***** out of the state. Good riddance, and get your head out of your ass.

If your post is an example of that FINER education then Iowa is safely ahead of wherever you got your FINER education.

If you think taxes are high in MN, you are not going to find any tax relief in Iowa. While IA sales tax is 6%, Iowa taxes clothing (MN does not). Iowa property taxes are going to be double what you would pay in MN and state income tax is as high if not higher in Iowa (depending on where you fall in the tax brackets)...

Default my loves and hates of Iowa

love the green
hate the snow

love the mostly cloudy 75 degree summer
hate that many of its people are not that friendly

love it being the land of oppertunity
hate nothing else really

love that the education system is better than some states ((cough)*Nebraska*(Cough)cough))

love that I was born there.
love it being part of the midwest.
love that we don't deal with hurricanes.
love that there's not any tornados when I was a baby and all my life living there.
like all places, it's a place to live.

I don't live there but have visited on multiple occasions as my gf is from there and the majority of her family is still stationed there. The three places I've been to the most are Cedar Rapids, St Lucas, and Decorah.

Cedar Rapids-seems very industrial, almost more Indiana-like than Iowa. The town feels like it has a very low budget and some awfully ugly parts.

St Lucas-incredibly tiny! I like that it feels like something out of the history books, but I can imagine how dead it is here. The White House has good food, and that's about all there is. I love the privacy, but felt like I was lost from society.

Decorah-My favorite place I've been to in IA. Still kitschy, but has some kick to it, and very friendly people. The downtown area is decent, the walking trails are nice, and the area is naturally beautiful with all the bluffs and MS river nearby.

Hate the 182 days of hot, humid summer and 182 days of cold, icy winter.
Absolutely love the 12 hours of spring and 12 hours of fall every year!

Do you hate people who exaggerate the weather? I know I do.
