Hey all - so i recently graduated and just moved to Ames, IA. Live with my boyfriend, so we spend a lot of time together, and will begin work in West Des Moines in another week. I do have a few friends, mostly all through my boyfriend, and not many girls at that. I would really like to meet some new people/girls to hang out with. I'm a pretty laid back girl, 22 years old, not huge into partying a lot, but do like drinking occasionally. Where are good places to meet others with similar interests? I'm joining a gym, but it's hard to find much other free time since I will be working full time.... any suggestions????? Thanks!

I'm a bit older than 22 but I've noticed a good place to hang out is the Old Chicago Restaurant on S. Duff. They have great (really cheesey) pizza. In the bar area they have a pool table, darts, and 4 or 5 video games. Their always pretty busy when ever we go. Last summer they had "Bike Night" when you could buy $1 hamburgers and fries every Tuesday for about 10 weeks. You could ride in a motorcycle or not and still get the deal. They also have Mini Tours like in October they had about 8 different beers to try from Germany and if you drank them all (had about a month to do) you got a free t-shirt. I don't go to any clubs or really go out drinking so that's about the only place I can think of. They are alot of bars on Welch Ave(Campus town) but I don't know which ones are good for dancing if that's what your looking for.
