You wear pants 9 months out of the year!? Iowa isn't cold that long! Or maybe it is to some?

pants
Probably just feels like 9 months ago since it was nice enough for shorts. Plus the summer stuff I like to do is often more comfortable in light pants -- don't want mosquitos and poison ivy to slow me down.
Hmm--guess I'd forgotten about those. Another reason to savor the winter I guess.

I do love winter activities -- sleds for kids are well worth the $5-10 bucks you might pay for them, and we have a great snow cave in our yard -- just being realistic here about who is to blame for my "thin layer" -- definitely more me than the weather.

Same with me, gotta love those cinnamon rolls, m&m's with popcorn, a huge blanket and a movie! But.. gotta shed the pounds for the summer months! Once April hits, it's all running for me.. and yeah, it sucks, but.. I wear my swimming suit WAY more than 10x a year.! I am out on the lake at least one day a weekend, if not more, and laying outside, or simply just at a pool during the week too... so yeah.. the winter layers gotta go til the end of August!
and yeah, definatly more me than the weather, but i gotta blame the weather somewhat, shoot, if it wasn't cold, I'd be out running once a day and spending time doing LOADS of things outside! All summer long, inside to sleep and eat.. and that's about it! Gotta love my sunshine!
I totally agree.. I am not NEARLY as active in the winter, I'm inside 99% of the time (the other 1% is walking to the car)... I do have a gym membership (which helps a lot for staying in shape)..but I hate treadmills. I advise find an outdoor activity you love! or something inside to stay a little in shape..

I survive winter by snowboarding, playing outside with my dog (we are both bundled up of course, me with hat gloves, scarf and coat, and him with his little sweater!) and learning how to knit! There's nothing better than coming in from the cold all rosy cheeked, getting a hot cup of soup or chocolate, turning on the TV and knitting a scarf or hat. Plus it keeps your time and mind occupied and off the gloomy weather! If you want to learn, go to your neighborhood craft store and get started!

I had to scrape my windshield this morning when I got off work. Not cool. This is getting old.
