I would like to know some of your favorite places in Iowa, whether it be town or region. I didn't put towns on the poll, because there would be hundreds of options.
I would most-specifically like to know your favorite Iowa towns with populations between 2,000 and 15,000. Many people like Northeast IA for the hills, and many people like Central Iowa for the DM metro... What is your favorite region and why? My favorite region is Northeast Iowa, and my favorite mid-sized town is Bellevue, in EC Iowa in Jackson County. Last edited by dubuqueaskme : 02-16-2008 at 11:06 AM. Reason: Changed mind. |

You can go to Keokuk, sure there are some rough looking areas, but there is also beautiful architecture, etc. And a lot of Bald Eagles near the huge Lock and Dam. Then from there you could go up the River Road (actually I would recommend going up on the Il side to Nauvoo) which is very interesting and historical. Cross over the toll bridge back into IA via Ft. Madison, then go up to Burlington.
I also like Waverly, and would really like to check out Storm Lake someday. Just my $.02. |

Yes, I really like Waverly as well. It would earn a spot on my top 10. I am not wild about Keokuk, I have been through the town once and was not too impressed, but nonetheless, it is a pretty city.

Wouldn't it be in East Central Iowa with Davenport and Cedar Rapids?
Where would that put Waterloo and Cedar Falls though, Northeast, East-Central, or North-Central? lol |

lol. Waterloo is North-Central Iowa... Iowa City is East Central Iowa. Sorry, I must not have been thinking when I made this poll.
Iowa City is not the only great place in Iowa... |
