God, I'm starting to think all of these "pro-IA City, anti-anything else" people are the same person under different names.

HA, I still think the anti Iowa City crew is the same person. But seriously though Iowa City really is the best city in the state.

Are you sure it's not more like 95%? I remember when I lived in Currier Hall a few years ago, and every guy I met on my floor fit the following description (and I swear this holds true for all of them I met):
1. They were from a suburb of Chicago
2. Dave Matthews Band was their favorite artist
3. They all owned a white University of Iowa baseball cap and wore it at least one day per week if not daily.
4. They were all majoring in business.
No joke, I don't recall meeting a single person on my floor that didn't fit that bill. And prior to that I thought the University of Iowa was a fairly diverse school.

Why yes it is actually!

If that's all the people you ever met, you needed to get out more. Plus that's rather extreme stereotyping.

Well that wasn't everyone I ever met, it was the people I met on my floor in the dorms. That was literally EVERYONE I met from my floor. I'm not stereotyping or even exaggerating...I'm being totally serious, which is why I don't find it comical, I find it sad.

I believe it's El Rhino that referred to them as the "White Hat Mafia."

I think the white hat was a staple for every student. It was THE hat, whether you wore it or not. I still have mine, although I haven't worn it since college, and I sure don't fit into the stereotype above And I remember much more diversity on my floor during freshman year. IC is rather diverse (for Iowa) but maybe diversity is located in pockets
