Default Council Bluffs apartment recommendations?

I thought I would try to get a little advice on this topic. I am a 31 year old divorced father of two (ages 2 and 4) looking for a nice apartment complex in Council Bluffs. I am looking for something fairly safe for the kids. It would also be helpful if it was realatively affordable since I am trying to save money right now, however I am willing to spend a little more to get a good complex.

Or should I just look at moving to Omaha since there is a much larger selection?

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Apartments for rent - ApartmentFinder.com
(I recommend this site way too much, it gets monotonous - sp?)

You can view both apartments in Omaha and Council Bluffs on here, suburbs as well. Hope this helps!

When I try that site I don't get any apartments listed. Are there personal recommendations on the site or just an overview of the apartments?

Did you search "All Apartments" and type in Council Bluffs, IA? If that doesn't work try Omaha.

I did search all apartments in both Omaha and Council Bluffs and the search returned nothing for either.

Hi, we just returned from there and my niece is renting a 1 bedroom at riverview ?? it's a gated community, will have 2 pools, movie theater etc... seemed very nice and secure. I think she found it online View River Park Apartments Apartments For Rent in Council Bluffs, Iowa - ForRent.com, they have older and new ones, near a park, close to the old market in neb. I don't know the avg price in the area. but look into it. Also use forrent.com

I know the area. Does your niece live in the new ones that were just built? The area around the apartments is so so, but it is a great location being right next to the Interstate and close to Omaha. How roomy was the apartment?

My niece will be living in the newer section, it seemed roomy to me. There really isn't much nearby except if you get on the interstate and go to omaha. She picked a second level unit with an alarm system and will also get a garage. It's also gated. Being she'll be alone for a little while we felt this was the best option. She's going to Creighton for dental school. Our family has lived all over and found this to be safe place. I guess it's all relative as to places around the country we've seen. Also i have no idea how the schools for the kids are in that area, which you will have to worry about.
