Home inspector and inspection (Des Moines, Iowa City: house, rent, recommendation)

Hi everyone,
I have a few questions about home inspections here in Iowa. When I bought my house here in Iowa City four years ago, my inspector seemed very nonchalant and not very thorough, as opposed to the rigorous inspection that was done on my home near Poughkeepsie NY.

For those of you who have had more experience with home inspections than I, what should I expect an inspector (in Des Moines) to typically look for? I would think at least mechanicals and structural integrity?

My second question is how would you recommend I go about finding a good inspector in Des Moines? I hope I am not breaching any of the rules of this board by asking this, but does anyone have any recommendations from personal experience they would care to share?

Thanks for your response. I see that Hawkeye is a member of NACHI. Looking back, the inspector who looked at my current home in Iowa City really dropped the ball in several areas, so I am a little concerned about this next home inspection.
