lol sounds like she lives in a very homey town.

Metro: She lives in Burlington! LOL! If you lived there 14 years, you probably know her too! I'm not telling you her name, you probably know my husband too! Don't know how long ago you lived there though. My mother in law isn't one of those people who keep to herself though, she's involved in everything Burlington, that's probably why everyone knows of her and her family. Don't get me wrong, I like visiting B-Town...but only in the summer. Sorry I said everyone acts depressed there, that's not really true. Just some people I guess.

This just happened to me this morning! I'm in CA, and ordered Mothers Day flowers for my mother in law in Iowa.

Pfft. I grew up 20 minutes from Mason City. Snow IS common on Halloween. Last year we didn't get any, but it barely snowed. It was all ice.

I grew up in north central Iowa less than five minutes from the Minnesota board. I don't EVER recall having a snowy Halloween. I'm not saying we didn't get a flurry on an odd year here or there, but it is not correct to say it is "common".
Please don't make me have to google snowfall precipation records for Iowa on Oct 31st to prove my point.

Ah Iowa, where you go off to College at the biggest school in the state (UofI) hoping to meet someone from a different place and end up on a blind date and marrying some one your own back yeard (hometown less than 30 minutes apart) Also where you live in IC and rune into not 1 but about 10+ people you know from your hometown. I swear, even if you live in a big City in Iowa it's still a small town

That's a funny list I only lived in Iowa in the tween/teen years but I still say uff-da and "cool beans". Is "cool beans" an Iowa thing or just an 80s thing? LOL

To be honest I'm a childhood transplant to the Decorah area, and I have no idea what it meant- until I read someone's post on this thread. I have some Norwegian blood, but not enough to appreciate this stuff.
